Alzheimer's and Dementia

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease

Dementia is a condition caused by damage to the brain that results in a serious loss of cognitive and intellectual functioning beyond that of normal aging. žSymptoms may include memory loss, difficulties with speech, communication and movement, loss of judgement and reasoning and changes in mood and behaviour.

In this interactive webinar you will learn to identify  causes of these challenging behaviours  and create a plan to reduce these behaviours in order to assist your family member and reduce your stress level. You will also be provided with a variety of resources to help implement action plans.

Our dynamic speaker, Andonia Stefanovich MSc., OT, has been with VHA Rehab Solutions since 2009 providing in–home occupational therapy assessment and treatment and consultation. She has worked extensively with both physical/medicine and geriatric health clients.  She has developed and presented a home safety and fall prevention educational session for at-risk seniors through West Neighbourhood House Community Center (formerly St. Christopher’s House).

This presentation will be followed by a question/answer period.
