We are producing a video to promote Huddol and grow awareness of caregiving as an important health and social issue. Huddol is a social health network dedicated entirely to the family caregiver experience. The video will follow a caregiver who takes care of a family member, helping them with their daily needs.
Specifically, we are looking for a caregiver living in and around Montreal caring for:
-A child with a visible disability
-An ageing parent with a loss of mobility or autonomy
We want to document their daily encounters, tasks, moments and the small details that matter in care. Our main focus will be the range of care families offer; everyday life with its ups and downs, and how they make it work on a daily basis.
There will be no sound or interviews during filming, but we may ask participants to stage some of their regular tasks around caring for their loved one. The caregiver may need help from another family member during filming to be able to manage the needs of the person in their care.
We are very aware of the sensitivity of the subject matter and we will do everything possible to make everyone feel at ease.
The film crew will be two people, the director and a person from production team.
Participants will need to be at ease in front of a camera, not forgetting also the need to have everyone’s consent to being filmed. Their collaboration is essential to the process. We may also ask participants to share some past and present family photos.
Shooting Date: The week of the 10th of July 2017 (Please send us your availabilities)
Time: Half a day
Remuneration for participation: $250
